SACO in South Africa utilises its extensive global network and comprehensive Southern African regional coverage to offer seamless transshipment services to cross-border destinations. All transshipment cargo is managed through our affiliated company, ZACPAK in Durban, where it is efficiently destuffed and consolidated for onward carriage into the SADC and BLNE regions. 

We prioritise strict adherence to processes and Service Level Agreements with suppliers to minimize delays during transshipment and disruptions at borders. 

Our Road Freight Cross Border services are structured as follows: 

  • Weekly services (FTL/LTL): Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini 
  • Fortnightly services (FTL/LTL): Malawi 

In addition to handling LCL transshipment services into Southern Africa, ZACPAK Durban serves as a cross-docking hub for FCL transshipment cargo. This facility facilitates efficient unpacking and reloading (Break Bulk) of inbound FCLs, reducing container turn-in costs, avoiding demurrage charges, and eliminating the need for container deposits.
